Activity Closed
Tracking Workshop
Dear Attendee
Thank you for your interest in our ‘introduction to tracking workshop’ to be held at Mount Penang Gardens, Kariong from 12.30 on Sunday 21st September.
General directions - From Central Coast Highway you turn into The Avenue, Kariong. Keep following this road straight along and you will reach a point where you can see a round oval on your right – at this point turn right. I will put a large traffic cone with a sign on the corner. There is plenty of space to park/walk your dog.
We will start with a presentation and then Q & A at which tea/coffee/biscuits will be provided. You will need to bring your own lunch. The presentation will be held inside and seating for this will be provided. This will be followed by a short practical demonstration (tracking/article indication) and the opportunity for a small number of dogs to gain some practical assistance/input as to how to start their dog tracking.
Please BYO chair for the outside part of our workshop.
If you have applied for a working/reserve working spot please could you email me back with details of -
Name of your dog
Age/breed
Your experience/your dogs experience in tracking or track and search
By 16th September.
Please note that we have high interest in dog spots and these will be limited. The goal will be to provide those new/novice to the sport with an opportunity to gain some practical experience in how to start tracking. We will email to confirm that you have a working spot.
General - All dogs must be kept crated in your car, when out of the car must be on lead at all times and only one dog at a time will be allowed in the practical section of the workshop. There is plenty of area to walk/exercise/toilet your dog away from the workshop.
You will need to bring some food that can be used in the tracking training.
Please note that working spots are not suitable for dogs who are not social with people and/or other dogs.
Any questions please feel free to email me direct on kareneaton@bigpond.com or call me on 0414 315 782.
In the event of extreme weather conditions an email will be sent but you are welcome to call the mobile.
We are looking forward to a great day and hoping to encourage you all to become more involved in the sport of tracking/track and search with your dog.
Regards
Karen Eaton
