Sighthound Development Day (Main & Limit Register Sighthounds Only)

To be conducted following the completion of the Lure Coursing Tests & Trials for Sighthounds.

Baby Puppies
Puppies may be introduced to the field and equipment during the trial lunch break (the lure will not be operating). Puppies must be capable of walking on a lead. This opportunity is provided free of charge and no booking is required.

Priority 1 – Sighthounds 15 Months and Over
Assisted runs will be provided for dogs who have not previously participated in Lure Coursing or who require assistance & advice in working towards completing a course.
Cost: $20 per dog.

Priority 2 – Sighthound Puppy Runs (6–15 Months)
Assisted short runs for younger puppies and those not yet eligible to trial.
Cost: $10 per dog.

Qualifying Course Practice
For dogs that have completed the required two Junior Courser passes and whose handlers wish to introduce them to running with another Sighthound prior to entering the Qualifying Course Class.

A limited number of experienced dogs will be available, as these dogs will also be competing during the trial. Handlers are strongly encouraged to arrange their own experienced dog in advance to ensure availability on the day.

An experienced dog is defined as a current or retired Sighthound competing in the Open or Field Champion classes.

All dogs must wear an approved muzzle. Inexperienced dogs will not be permitted to run together.
Cost: $20 per dog.

Handlers must contact the Club via email to confirm arrangements for QC practice prior to the day

Please note: No “Cash n Dash” or fun runs will be provided. The afternoon session is specifically structured to support dogs new to the sport and/or those requiring guided assistance.

Run numbers are strictly limited. Bookings are available via Show Manager.
